Garden Flowers

This is my first attempt at growing Dahlia's and low and behold it worked without too much effort. This is the first of hopefully many. I paired it with some fun pink and gold paper and some of my favorite vessels, an old apothecary jar.

Something Sweet

Sweet peas are everywhere! Here are some from my garden and they just keep coming!

Some facts about sweet peas.
  • They are native to the Mediterranean region from Sicily to Crete.
  • There meaning is "blissful pleasure in the language of flowers"

More Paper Flowers!

I have been very productive and excited about these paper flowers. I am going to use them for a Latin flavored photo shoot as well as a bridal shower that I am throwing, so stay tuned for those photos in the upcoming months. For now though I will share a bright grouping of these fun and festive flowers. I have also posted some on Etsy for sale, so check out the shop.

Jewel Tone Corsage

When I was doing flowers for mother's day I decided to make a corsage with some of the vibrant pinks I had around as well as some purple ribbon. Here is the result which I think would great on a bright teal dress in the summer or spring!

Paper Flowers

I have been doing some experimentation with paper flowers this week and have some eye candy to show. The paper I used is vintage wallpaper and I plan to find some other vintage materials to use and expand on these flowers in the future, so stay tuned.

Mother's Day Workshop

I have been progressively developing my Flower Workshop and had the chance to do one with Nicole, a client of mine and her mother and sister. Nicole sent me a couple images of arrangements and flowers her mom liked and we went from there. They turned out great and everyone had a good time!

Nicole is also a photographer so she took some amazing photos. You can check out her blog {here}.

Our palette was pink and we were going for more of a formal look.

We took it step by step. First using our filler, wax flower and building the arrangement from there.

Welcome!

I have started a new blog under the Gilliflower name! For previous posts regarding flowers and other design ideas please go to my other blog One Old House.
